Purchased for a 2016 Road king. Arrived at the earliest promised date. Fit great. This is my second purchase. very good. product overall.
I purchased the Vector Batwing Fairing for my 2009 Road King Classic. The product was shipped within 1 to 2 business days from my order and arrived at my door a few days later (much faster than expected). The packaging was excellent; even with some rough handling by the freight company, the product was in perfect condition out of the box.
Installation was easy and was done quickly. No electronics in this model, so it was really just putting on the brackets and windshield and mount it on the bike. Installation would have been even faster if I didn’t need to get two bolts and some extra washers that were not included in the packaging.
The look is good, but most importantly, it is moving the air around me and will keep my hands warmer in the spring and fall
I love this fairing! It fit perfectly and it’s beautiful and it’s very well built. I had it installed in about an hour and it fits tight and has no rattles. It’s an awesome product and I will be a return customer.
Nice product, quick shipping. Easy to put together and put on my bike. Makes the bike look totally different and good. Blocks wind and bugs as desired. Would buy again.
Pretty solid batwing. Great price and quality. Needed a little tweaking around my headlight for a better fit. Have not added a radio or speakers but looks like they will fit nice. I would recommend for anyone.
Well made and looks good but I had to trim and a hole in the mounting brackets to get it to sit back a little better. All in all, just a few minutes extra work for a good product at a good price.
Decent quality and very solid when assembled. Held my radio amp and speakers without issues and the supplied mounting brackets did the job. Pleased with the purchase and def reccomend for someone who wants a batwing and wants to put their own sound system components on board.
Just received my Vector Batwing fairing yesterday. It was designed for a Road King, (not available for T-Bird... big surprise there!) but mounting dimensions are similar, so let the "making it work" begin.
A couple observations first; some good, some not so good.
1) GOOD - Overall quality seems good. It is fiberglass, not ABS, so I feel that's a plus. It comes with 2 windshields, one clear and one amber tinted.
2) GOOD - It was well packaged and came in 2 days! (SC to VA) Good value too @ $289 + $39 shipping and has inside & outside shell.
3) BAD - When I talked to "Johnny" at Vector about 2 weeks ago, I explained to him that I intended to adapt to a T-Bird, and asked him if it was possible to get a second clear windshield instead of the amber one. The amber would not go well with my paint. "That shouldn't be a problem" was his reply. Unfortunately, after I spent my money, it suddenly couldn't be done as they were already packaged! After all, he was "just an employee and didn't make the rules."
4) BAD - I also asked "Johnny" about the finish. I asked if the black gelcoat would need painted if I wanted to keep it black. He replied "No". Unfortunately, it is actually a pretty dull finish and WILL need painted.
5) BAD - The mount holes in the fiberglass are much bigger (12MM) than the matching mount holes in the mounting bracket (8MM) and will need attention to keep everything snug.
Overall, though I am disappointed at the deceit in Johnny's answers, this is going to be a cool winter project. I intend to mount the instrument cluster in one of the four speaker holes, and some proper engine instruments in one of the others. That leaves 2 for speakers, and the center one for a GPS/MP3 unit. The instrument cluster will likely need longer wiring, but it's just another "thing".
Seemed like the fairing required alot of pressure to mount on the studs. Also there is a big over lap of the outter shell over the inner. The company suggestion was to buy car molding and install it along the seam to make it match. Again for the cost it looks ok and does the job. The final test will be the color match paint.
